Frank Blackfire is one of Germany’s most influential thrash metal guitarists, known for his work with genre-defining acts Sodom and Kreator. Joining Sodom in 1986, he played on the landmark albums Persecution Mania (1987) and Agent Orange (1989), helping shape the band’s signature aggressive sound.
In 1989, Frank joined Kreator, contributing to the iconic Coma of Souls (1990) and further albums like Renewal (1992) and Cause for Conflict (1995), showcasing his evolving style and versatility.
After a series of personal projects, including his own band and the album Back on Fire (2015), Frank rejoined Sodom in 2018. Together, they released Genesis XIX (2020) and the upcoming The Arsonist (2025).
Frank Blackfire’s tight riffing and precise, high-energy playing continue to inspire new generations of metal musicians worldwide.
